Starting your own business takes a lot of guts. There will probably be many hurdles and unforeseen obstacles that will need to be dealt with. To make it through the hard times, entrepreneurs need to find it within themselves to self-motivate and push through the crises and stress.

While talking about competition, Mr. Gopalan said, “Competition is always good. Young people are coming with new technologies are contributing a lot in this field.”
Think of it as natural selection for startups and small business owners. In a competitive world, if you can’t keep your cool, stay focused, and find a way to win against all odds, you’re toast.
Truth is, the business world is risky business. It isn’t for the thin-skinned, the weak-minded or the faint of heart. And if you fit one of those colourful descriptions, sooner or later, you’re probably going to get weeded out of the entrepreneurial gene pool.
Mr. Gopalan always took failures in positive way and created learning milestones to climb the success ladder.
He said, “Don’t panic when things go wrong or get distracted when stuff doesn’t go according to plan. It happens a lot. Maintain perspective by staying focused on long-term goals, and remember the old gambling (or investing, same thing) axiom: Never try to win back what you’ve lost. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Move on.”
“Learning is the minimum requirement for success in your field. Information and knowledge on everything is increasing every day. This means that your knowledge must also increase to keep up and I strongly believe in continuous learning of new technology.” said Mr. Gopalan.
In many business-to-business sectors, margins are under pressure as more sophisticated procurement teams search for cost savings from a growing array of high-quality suppliers, including some in emerging markets.
In this more competitive environment, sales teams may be quicker to lower prices—especially if they know too little about competitors’ prices or how much the customer is willing to pay.
Mr. Gopalan shared his view on the challenges he is facing, he said, “Due to lot of competition’s price factor is major concern along with the quality of project.”
Pricing, ultimately, relies on so much more than data analysis: It’s rooted in human psychology and a touch of game theory. The lesson, then, is to show substantive value to the customer, or offer a point of comparison to anchor pricing options.
At the same time, showcase the high quality of your product and experiment with the perception of the product’s “fair” and reasonable value.
There is power in relationships that extends beyond a generic introduction. When you create connections based on shared interests and goals, you’ll be more successful at your job, because people want to work with people they know and like. Therefore Mr. Gopalan, always try to meet new people and listen for their new ideas.
Mr. Gopalan said, “Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.”
“And yet, despite our resistance to it, I have never found myself feeling worse after the hard work was done. There have been days when it was damn hard to start, but it was always worth finishing. Sometimes, the simple act of showing up and having the courage to do the work, even in an average manner, is a victory worth celebrating.”, said Mr. Gopalan.
Life is easier now than it has ever been. 300 years ago, if you didn’t kill your own food and build your own house, you would die. Today, we whine about forgetting our iPhone charger.
Maintain perspective. Your life is good and your discomfort is temporary. Step into this moment of discomfort and let it strengthen you.
